The name change from EBG Resistors to Miba Resistors marks the start of a new era as part of the “Miba 100" strategy.
Operating under a single brand name will have many advantages for our Power Electronics Division.
The “Miba 100” strategy aims to achieve universal alignment across the entire company. Specifically, “Miba 100” focuses on developing and manufacturing technologies along the entire energy value chain. Miba aims to supply solutions that meet the technological challenges faced by customers in the sustainable production, transfer, storage, and use of energy.
Having a single brand plays an important role here. The aim is to make this strategic alignment and Miba's extensive expertise clearly visible to the outside world - to customers, potential employees, research partners, suppliers, and the general public.
EBG Resistors already operates in some of the same Miba customer segments, such as Automotive. Under the new name, further expansion into other industries is planned.
EBG Resistors has been part of the Miba Group since 2010 and, from June 2024, will become part of the single Miba brand under the new name Miba Resistors.
This means our two production sites in the Styrian towns of Kirchbach and St. Stefan will now operate as Miba Resistors Austria GmbH.
Our sales offices in the USA have been renamed Miba Resistors US LLC. The company name of the EBG plant in China remains unchanged.
This move also affects other companies in our Power Electronics Division. Since April 2024, the EDMS power electronics plant in Slovenia has been called Miba Electronics Slovenia. From June, our cooling technology specialist DAU will operate under the name Miba Cooling Austria.
What are the advantages?
With the new company names, EBG Resistors benefits from the reputation of the Miba brand:
The single brand shows that our Power Electronics Division, and with it EBG Resistors, belong to Miba. Everyone benefits from the combined expertise.
Miba has also been an established brand in the automotive and mobility industry for decades. This helps our Power Electronics Division grow its business in this market, which further strengthens the trust automotive customers have in process quality and our commitment to high standards.
The name change from EBG Resistors to Miba Resistors signals the start of a new phase of the “Miba 100" strategy.
The focus on a single brand brings many advantages and strengthens ties within the Miba Group.
It puts the Power Electronics Division in the perfect position to embrace future challenges and opportunities.
